12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 12 Merry Christmas!

The day has arrived, presents are all unwrapped & bellies are full.  We are all having a rest until the family arrive for Christmas dinner & I thought I would share with you my Christmas card I sent out to many of my friends.
There are two versions of the same design because you only get one sheet of each of that gorgeous silver foil DSP in the pack.  I wish you got 2 of each don't you!

I have used the very versatile single stamp called Be Merry & for only $16 it is a great stamp to use on both cards & for your Christmas tags.   I masked off the to & from on the stamp to get this effect.  I used the retired Bigz die for the snowflake & Island Indigo as my base colour.   These single stamps have been so handy for my Christmas preparation for cards & gifts & I even gave some of the actual stamps as gifts.

Stamp Sets:  Be Merry (132739)
Paper:   Island Indigo (124390), Coastal Cabana (131302), Bermuda Bay (131286), Winter Frost Specialty DSP (132341).
Ink:  Island Indigo (126986), Bermuda Bay (131171)
Cool Tools: Bigshot (113439),  Snow Flurry Bigz Die (Retired), 1/8" Mini Silver brads (122941), Basic Rhinestones (119246), SIlver 1/8" Ribbon (132137).

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 12 Last Minute Gifts - Apothecary Jars

I have thrown in a double whammy this week as I know you are all busy preparing for Christmas.  It is only 6 days away (eek!), so I figured you might need some more ideas.  I have a lot of teachers & family friends to buy for at Christmas & often find they get lumped into the chocolates or biscuit category.  This year I decided to spruce up their gifts with some little apothecary jars filled with chocolates.  I even made a coordinating card.  I made 5 of each colour scheme & liked both, but did prefer the Crumb Cake version.   Which colour do you like best?  I have just entered these little last minute gifts in the SUO only challenges #86 - Its Almost The Last Minute Challenge!  Why not pop on over & check out the other entries.

The first one uses Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler with the Season Of Style Paper Stack.

The second is my Pool Party version. This one has white embossing onto Pool Party with Smokey Slate & uses the Winter Frost Paper Stack.

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 11 Merry & Joyful Christmas Take 2

In Week 7 I made this card in a Cherry Cobbler version, but had always intended to make this version.   It was just that I was distracted by the Season Of style DSP & totally forgot to make it. When I first saw the Joyful Christmas stamp set this was exactly what I had in mind. I think I prefer this version.  How about you? I love that the vellum really shows off on this version & the pure white & gold gives this card a much more elegant look.

Stamp Set:  Joyful Christmas (131805).
Paper:  Whisper White (106549), Pear Pizazz (131290) Gold Foil Sheets (132622), Vellum Cardstock (106584).

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 11: Daydream Medallions Ornaments

I decided this year I would make my own ornaments for my tree.  While looking for ideas I came across I gorgeous creation by Margaret Raburn on Pinterest.  My fellow demonstrator Nicole Clare (& partner in crime for the market recently), made one & it was so nice I just had to try one for myself.  Here is my 1st one based on Nicole's colours of Always Artichoke, Whisper White,  Cherry Cobbler & Champagne Glimmer paper.

And here is my version hanging on my tree.  I chose Island Indigo, Whisper White & Smokey Slate for my colour scheme. It is pretty obvious to all that know me that Island Indigo is my favourite colour.

And here is my tree all decorated.

Oops I forgot to post this card last week in all the rush.  Those of you that get my newsletter will recognise this card as it is featured there.  I love using Island Indigo at the moment.  One look at my Christmas tree will tell you that! We made this card in one of my Christmas card classes a month or two back & I really liked how it turned out.

I have used Smokey Slate as the base & silver embossing powder for the dove.   The Winter Frost Specialty DSP was used as contrasting background.  I will be sad to see this DSP go as it is one of my favourites.

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 9 Santa Candle

This week I held a little class on stamping on candles.  I run this class every year & every year I see some amazing creations.  I had forgotten all about it until some customers commented on a few I had displayed in my studio.  All the ladies made beautiful candles ( yes, even you Lesley!).  I wish I had taken a photo of their creations :(

Here is a sample of one I made earlier. I used Santa's List & More Merry Messages.

I made another using Polar Party (retired)

The last one is made using the cute hostess set called Warmth & Wonder.

12 Weeks of Christmas: Week 8 Season of Style Merry Banner

Can you believe this time next month Christmas will be over!  We have less than 4 weeks to go & I have only just started to think about presents.  One of my downline, Leanne made a beautiful banner recently using retired products.  At stamp club last month we all decided it would make a great project for the next month's class.  I have used my old friends Festive Flurry ( I know…..yes AGAIN!) & the Season Of Style DSP for this quick one I whipped up as a sample.  The ladies are hoping to add some stamped images to their own designs on the night. I will take some photos to show you their finished banners next month.

It is very hard to photograph in all its entirity so here is a close up.

I have used Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive with a little of the Champagne Glimmer paper which makes the banner lovely & sparkly. It didn't take very long to make once I had decided on the design & I'm hoping to make a few as gifts for family this Christmas.

Stamp Set:  Festive Flurry  (131778)
Paper:  Whisper White (106549), Cherry Cobbler (121681), Old Olive (106576), Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885).

12 Weeks Of Christmas Week 8: Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Holders

My new Envelope punch board arrived just as I was preparing my Stamp A Stack.  I seriously love this little gem of a tool.  I have used it for lots of things, not just envelopes & today I made these cute gift card holders with it.  Once again I have used the Season Of Style DSP & following on with the cute theme this week I have chosen the Color Me Christmas Stamp Set.  I knew as soon as I saw this stamp set in the catalogue I had to have it!

These are really easy to make & look great.  I give a lot of gift cards at Christmas so they will come in very handy!  My card holder is an adapted version of one Jackie Topa made (If you click her name it will take you directly to her post with a video on how to make her version).  To make this version you need a piece of card stock 4 1/4" x 11".  Score this at 2" & 7 3/8".  Insert the short end into the envelope punch board & line up with the 1" mark.  Punch then flip over & do the same, that is line it up at the 1" mark & punch again. I put sticky strip up either side of the flap to hold the card in place.  Jackie does a stepped up version which takes a bit longer.

Stamp Set:  Color Me Christmas (131745), Wishing You (131751), More Merry Messages (126402)
Paper:  Whisper White(106549), Cherry Cobbler (121681), Gumball Green (127543), Early Espresso (121686), Season Of Style DSP (132340), Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & Gumball Green Markers.
Ink:  Early Espresso (126974), Cherry Cobbler (126966)
Cool Tools: NEW Envelope Punch Board (133774),  Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (19959), Large Oval Punch (199855), Scallop Oval Punch (119856), Sticky Strip (104394), Dimensionals(104430).

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 7 Merry & Joyful Christmas Card

We are getting closer to the big day & I figured it was time to start making a few Christmas cards for friends & family.  This card is one of my favourites so I might make a few of these when I get the chance.  I used the stamp set Joyful Christmas to stamp the pointsettia onto vellum card stock & then I coloured it with a sponge dauber. I have once again used the Season of Style DSP as a background, focussing on Cherry Cobbler & Gold.

I used the Expression Thinlit Dies to cut out the Merry from Stampin' Up! Gold Foil sheets.  I have even embossed the pearls in the centre by dipping them in VersaMark & then heat embossing with Gold embossing powder.

Stamp Set:  Joyful Christmas (131805).
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler (121681), Pear Pizazz (131290) Gold Foil Sheets (132622), Season Of Style DSP (132140), Vellum Cardstock (106584).

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 6 Oh So Cute Gingerbread Houses

I think I have finally caught up on my 12 weeks of Christmas posts - YAY!   Today I am sharing a little Gingerbread house I saw on Pinterest made by Leigha Rock.   It was so cute I just had to recreate it using what I had in the way of supplies.  It is made with the milk carton die & it is very tiny!  This 1st house I made to put lollies in.  The top opens & it is a solid construction.

It is made from Crumb Cake & Whisper White & mostly punch art.  Isn't it cute!

Then, as I was putting it together I thought….hmmm I wonder if I punched out a few windows whether one of the little battery operated candles would fit inside to light it up.  On this one I used Baked Brown Sugar & Whisper White & punched out the windows with a 1" square punch & replaced them with Vellum.  Ta-Da!  I still need to tweak the design a bit but love this version as the candle flickers like a little fireside scene.

Stamp Set:  Pennant Parade (Merry) (122742)
Paper:  Whisper White(106549), Real Red (106578), Gumball Green (127543), Gumball Green (127543), Crumb Cake (121685), Baked Brown Sugar (131301), Red Glimmer Paper (121790), White Vellum (106548).

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 4 Santa Licorice sticks

Staying with the Santa theme I thought I would share some cute little punch art Santas I made for the school fete. I found these on Pinterest.  What cant you find there?!  I am not sure where the original idea comes from but I have to say I just love them.   They are so cute & quite easy to make.  I made 40 of these little fellows & might make a few more for the kids to give out at school for their end of year school parties.

Santa Red Licorice

Each Santa uses 2 x extra large ovals (1 x red, 1 x white), 1 x large oval(pink for face), 1 x old ornament punch, owl punch for nose & mouth, circle punch from Itty Bitty Shapes for his eyes & the bird builder punch (his moustache is the birds wings).

There they all are ready to be packaged up for the fete.  I am busy getting lots of little goodies ready for the fete so you might just see a few more creations very soon.

12 Weeks Of Christmas - Week 4 Santa's List Card

I am running not just a little,  but a a lot behind with these posts!  I have been busy creating, but just haven't photographed them all.   Well I have been busy today & there should be quite a few posts coming over the next few days to get us up to speed.

Santas List stamp set was not one of my favourites from the Holiday catalogue, but like a lot of Stampin' Up! stamps, it grew on me & now  am finding I am using it more & more.  Nothing says Christmas like the jolly old red fellow.  Hmm well, in this case he is a jolly old Early Espresso fellow!

Santa's List Card

Over the next few posts you will see me concentrate on the traditional Christmas colours of red & green.  I have used Cherry Cobbler & Gumball Green on this card & have teamed Santa with the Season Of Style DSP paper Stack (Item # 132181).   These paper stacks are perfect for creating a pile of cards for family & friends this Christmas & are an absolute bargain at just $11.95.

I am running a Stamp-A-Stack class this Sunday & this just so happens to be one of the cards you will be making if you join me.  We are making 6 cards, 3 tags & 3 gift cards holders.  I will be sharing the rest of the designs over the next few posts so please do come back to see them.  If you would like to attend I have 2 spots left.  Contact me on 0411113530 to book your place.

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 3 Reindeer Candy Canes

I am participating in a little Christmas Market at the local primary school this year.  I cant wait to get the kids creating & playing with all the Stampin' Up! goodies I have stashed away.  Often when an item retires I keep it for a little while just to see if I use it.  The two tags die is one I will keep using as I love it & find it very versatile.  I was looking through pinterest & came across some cute little reindeers made from this die & thought they would be perfect for my market stall.  These are easy to make so I figure why not get the kids to create their own.

I think they would make a nice little table gift for the kids on Christmas day too.   My kids want to make these for their friends as little christmas presents.

Paper:  Whisper White (106549),  Early Espresso ( 121686) & Red Glimmer Paper (121790)

There are two shapes to choose from, and each die comes with 8 or 9 additional framelit shapes to help dress up your cards.

I used the oh so cute Colour Me Christmas Stamp set with the funny little reindeer & chose to use the Circle Thinlit & the Season Of Style paper stack for a quick easy background.

Colour Me Christmas Flip Card

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 2 Card & Gift Box - Festive Flurry vs Chalk Talk

I know, yet another Festive Flurry project, but I promise this is it for now, as I have lots of other projects to show you that feature some exciting new products.  I am showing both the card & box today as I am running a bit behind in my posts.   This box & card combo was our Stamp Club project this month.  My aim was to feature Chalk Talk & the Tag a Boxes but in a Christmassy kind of way. I also wanted to show off the Festive Flurry stamp set & matching framelits as I just love them.

Please excuse the photos - It is a grey rainy day, & the lighting in here is pretty bad today.

Festive Flurry Gift Box
THE BOX:
I used one of the new Tag a Bag Gift Boxes featured in the Annual Catalogue on page 158.  (#130927)  You get 8 in the packet & they come with their own acetate sleeves. These are great for little gifts & would be perfect for that Kris Kringle present we all seem to get landed with at Christmas.   I used the Winter Frost DSP stack & Smokey Slate for the box.

THE TAG:
I then made an extra long tag by folding over the Bermuda Bay cardstock in the Chalk Talk framelit for added length.  I cut a large Festive Flurry snowflake from Silver Glimmer paper, & stamped another large one in Coastal Cabana ink & cut it out too.  We did a bit of scoring on this one & I layered on top a silver embossed medium snowflake, a Bermuda bay small snowflake & then a heat embossed white on vellum small snowflake that was also scored to give it depth.  On top of all this was the crowning glory - a Frosted Finishes Embellishment. Oh and to hold it on the box a Smokey Slate Chevron Ribbon.   Here is a close up of the tag

THE CARD:
A base of Smokey Slate, a thin layer of Bermuda Bay & the matching Winter Frost paper stack were used to offset the Smokey Slate gift tag.  The tag has a small Chalk Talk image plus a silver embossed vellum snowflake.  Layered on this is a Coastal Cabana small snowflake embellished with with some rhinestones & a Silver Glimmer star punched from the Merry Minis Punch Pack which were carried over - Yay!  I used the Expression Thinlits to cut out a Silver Glimmer Merry & phew we were all done!

Festive Flurry Tag Card

Paper:  Whisper White (106549), Silver Glimmer (124005), Winter Frost DSP Stack (132183), Smokey Slate( 131291), Bermuda Bay (131286).

12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 2 Bottle Tag

I know we dont have snow here in Australia for Christmas but I just cant stop using the beautiful new Festive Flurry Framelits & matching stamp set sold as a bundle (#133285).  I often give wine as a present for Christmas so it was a no brainer that I would make a bottle tag out of these.

Festive Flurry Bottle Tag

The tag part is easy.  Just cut a length of DSP or card stock (I used the Winter Frost Specialty DSP) to 20cm x 7cm & scored it at 7cm.  Then I punched out the circle with a 1 3/4" circle punch, but you can use the 1 3/8" circle punch.
For the snowflake I used soft sky cardstock & embossed the large snowflake in white.  I then used the Silver Encore ink pad & made another large snowflake which has been scored & raised on dimensionals.  The last layer is white embossing powder (with a pinch of dazzling diamonds glitter) heat embossed onto vellum.  A small star shaped flower from Boho Blossoms punch & a rhinestone centre & it is all done.

Stamp Sets:  Festive Flurry (131778)
Paper:  Whisper White (106549), Silver Glimmer (124005), Winter Frost Specialty DSP (132341), Soft Sky ( 131292)
Ink:  Silver Metallic Encore Pad (132142)
Cool Tools: Bigshot (113439), Festive Flurry Framelits (132193), Magnetic Platform (130658), Boho Blossoms Punch (119858), Dimensionals (104430), Silicone Craft Sheet (127853),  1 3/4" Circle punch (119850), Basic Rhinestones (119246) & Hot glue gun ( Non-SU).

12 Weeks Of Christmas - Week 1 Silver Star Card

Firstly, I need to apologise for this late post.  I wrote it & thought I scheduled it but something went wrong & it didn't post automatically. I went to post Week 2 of the countdown & saw this sitting there.

Have you seen the single stamps that Stampin' Up! are offering at the moment?  I thought I would buy a few of the Christmas ones & give them a try.  Starting from just $8.95 I figured what did I have to lose.  Considering my 1st project this week was a monotone silver based ornament, I decided to make a matching card. The star is quite large & would make a very nice sized ornament or tree topper.
